September 24 – 25, Vilniaus Kolegija/HEI was visited by Marjo Arola, Head of the International Relations Department, and Anne-Maria Makela, Head of the International Research Department, from Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences, Finland.
Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences, together with Vilniaus Kolegija/HEI and 7 other higher education institutions, is a member of the European University Alliance HEROES. Guided by the inspiring motto “Knowledge is power. Resilience and innovation are superpowers” the members of the alliance will focus on education, research and lifelong learning in the coming years.
During the visit, the guests visited the Chemistry and Food Technology Laboratories of the Faculty of Agrotechnologies, the Veterinary Clinic, the Center for Growing and Greening Ornamental Plants “VIKO Flora”, and the spaces of the Department of Landscape Design and Agribusiness Technologies. The guests got acquainted with the study environment, applied research and experimental development activities carried out at the faculty, implemented projects and international partnership initiatives. During the visit, possible forms of cooperation were discussed, ideas were exchanged regarding the development of joint research directions, project activities and mobility initiatives.
The guests visited the Study and Research Resource Center (SMIC), admired the modern and student-friendly spaces that create a cozy learning environment for students’ independent work.
During the meeting, a mutual desire was expressed to strengthen cooperation and develop a sustainable inter-institutional partnership focused on the implementation of joint projects, promotion of international mobility of students and staff, closer interaction in the areas of applied scientific research. It is expected that these initiatives will significantly contribute to strengthening the internationalization of Vilniaus Kolegija/HEI and Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences.
